It's not like the factory warranty only applies to the original owner. If a company is just selling the part, it makes sense. However, if they are both making it AND selling it, it makes no sense to not cover the part. If it has a fault, it has a fault regardless who owns it. A warranty is covering a faulty product, not owner negligence.
